Sponsorship
Click here for full instructions on how to use JustGiving for YOUR charity challenge page.
If you setup a page through with Just Giving ensure you send the link to JustGiving@Khuddam.org.uk so we have a record of the fund raising page for our records.
JustGiving.com allows walkers to create their own page for free highlighting their fund raising event and the charities they are going to support. This link can then be passed to friends and family who can sponsor them online and leave comments of encouragement.
Justgiving is the leading charity fundraising website, enabling ordinary people to raise extraordinary amounts of money for the causes they care about. Since its launch in 2001, its member charities have collected over £60 million in online donations through their website.
Cheques
NOTE: All cheques should be made payable to "MKA Charity Challenge "
What to Wear?
Clothing
You need to be prepared for any type of weather on the day of the event (check weather reports the day before):
-
Too Cold - Bring multiple layers to wear, to avoid the cold – you can always take layers off when you get hot
-
Too Wet - Rain Coat/Waterproofs (bring a spare pair of socks!)
-
Too Sunny - Bring a cap/sunglasses to avoid extra heat
Footwear
Please ensure you wear suitable walking/running shoes. Parts of the route will be sandy/muddy depending on weather conditions on the day/leading up to the event. DO NOT wear new shoes on the day of the event.
First Aid
First Aid will be available to anyone injured at the event. Doctors are available to reach you wherever you may be on the route. However, wherever possible we ask that you try to reach a marshalling point, or ideally a point with road access on the map.
If you are injured away from a marshal, please send a message via another walker/runner to the next marshal along the route. Alternatively, call one of the contacts on your emergency contact list via mobile. DO NOT call the emergency services yourself, unless it is a major emergency
